Once again The Barrie & District Association of Realtors is reporting some pretty strong numbers, particularly in the Barrie and Innisfil housing market! In fact, Barrie is tied with Toronto for the third highest year-over-year increase according to a recent survey by Leger, a market research firm.

City of Barrie
Within the City of Barrie, detached residential properties posted an average selling price for the month of April 2016 of $438,006, an increase of 17% over April 2015.
Residential Townhouse, Link and Semi-Detached homes in the City of Barrie posted an average selling price of $313,784 in April 2016, a 15% increase over April 2015.
Condominium sales average for the City of Barrie for the month of April 2016 was $238,943, a 13% increase over April 2015.
Essa Township
In Essa Township, detached residential properties posted an average selling price of $432,088 in April 2016, an increase of 8% over April 2015.
Town of Innisfil
Detached residential properties in the Town of Innisfil posted an average selling price of $452,969 in April 2016, an increase of 16% over the month of April 2015.
Oro-Medonte Township
The average selling price for detached residential properties in Oro-Medonte in April 2016 was $465,193, a decrease of -19% compared to April 2015.
Springwater Township
Detached residential homes in Springwater Township posted an average selling price in April 2016 of $513,686, a decrease of -11% compared to April 2015.
The market has definitely continued to be a difficult one to navigate for buyers going it alone.
