It’s finally here – Happy first day of Autumn! ‘Tis the season of pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweaters, and riding boots. If you’re anything like me you’ve been patiently waiting for this day for quite some time now. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer and all, but hello fall fashion! As the air becomes crisp and the leaves begin to change so do the seasonal activities. So long are the the boardwalk and ice cream days, but not to worry, below you’ll find the top 5 fall activities to do in Barrie this season!
1. Pick That Perfect Pumpkin
Fall isn’t complete without a solid pumpkin carving session, so visit Chappell Farms for some fun seasonal festivities. Get lost in their corn maze, take a wagon ride, and scope the field for a nice plump pumpkin. Relieve some stress by feeding the cute farm animals and if you’re feeling brave check out the Tent of Terror.
2. Pick Away
An apple a day keeps the Doctor away (this may be handy come midterm season). Apple picking is a fall favourite so grab your bags and head out to Avalon Orchard to pick some fresh ones!
3. Take A Stroll
Grab your favourite pumpkin flavoured beverage and head to Sunnidale Park. The 48 acre park provides the perfect environment for a stress free study break. Get some fresh air, exercise, and take in the beautiful fall scenery.
4. Get Spooked
The City of Barrie transforms a city transit bus into a space filled with ghouls and goblins! The event runs from 5pm – 7pm on October 26th through to the 29th and is located at a different spot each night. It’s free so why not put your courage to the test! Check out the locations here
5. Get Some Height
The only thing better than looking at the colourful fall trees is being up in them. What better autumn adventure than going Treetop Trekking at Horseshoe Resort!?
