Good afternoon everyone! Richard Fournier here from the Fournier Experience Real Estate Team up here in Simcoe County, specifically Barrie & Innisfil area, all the way into Wasaga Beach, Oro-Medonte, Springwater as well. I just wanted to send out a quick video message. A lot of our clients are coming from outside the Barrie area. They are coming from the Greater Toronto Area, Brampton, Burlington, Etobicoke, Peterborough; they are coming from all over. If you are thinking of moving up here to the Barrie area, there is a tendency to use your agent that is listing your home to help you buy a property in Barrie – that’s a huge mistake. I’m sending out this video message today because we’re seeing a lot of it. We’re seeing agents coming from outside the market trying to buy properties for clients and it’s a huge mistake because they don’t really understand the market at all. They don’t have access to the data and they are probably not even members of the Barrie Real Estate Board so they don’t have access to all the sold data so you could be possibly paying extra for a property when you don’t need to. Use a local realtor. When you are coming up into an area (moving from outside this particular area), use a local agent. Use somebody who really understands the market and all the nuances of all the different neighbourhoods. We’re here to help. We’re not going to go and list your property in Etobicoke, Toronto, Oakville, Mississauga because that’s not our primary market and it’s very unprofessional of an agent to come into an area that they don’t know and try and buy a property. So if you are considering moving up into our area, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to serve you in any way that we can.
